Charley Boorman’s latest adventure, which was recently broadcast for the first time on BBC2, is now available on DVD. It’s titled ‘Charley Boorman - By Any Means’ and features Charley’s attempts to travel from Ireland to Sydney using as many different forms of transport as possible.

It was his first major travel adventure without Ewen McGregor and was a little strange to start off with, but I thought overall this was still quite an enjoyable series. Charley is again joined by Russ, his trusty producer, and on this series you also see quite a lot of Mungo, the new member of the team, who also seemed like a decent bloke.

Charley is a bit of a lad and is definitely an acquired taste but if you enjoyed his adventures in Long Way Down and Long Way Round then you will probably enjoy By Any Means. I personally didn’t think By Any Means was quite as exciting and as interesting as the two previous travel series, but it was still a very good watch and the DVD is sure to be even better than the TV series because it includes a few DVD extras.
