Goodnight Sweetheart was an excellent sitcom that was originally broadcast on the BBC in the 1990s. It starred Nicholas Lyndhurst as Gary Sparrow, who had an ability to travel back in time to the 1940s and lead a completely separate life to his ordinary life in the present day.

Goodnight Sweetheart really was an excellent series. I’ve recently finished watching the re-runs on ITV3 and to be honest had forgotten just how good it was. It was superbly written and had an excellent cast, particularly Victor McGuire who played his best mate in the present day. It was obviously a little far-fetched because of the time-travel element, but nevertheless it was still fascinating to see how the main character adapted to life in war-torn London and ran his ordinary life back in the 1990s at the same time.

Anyway if you are a fan of the series, I have some good news for you because you can now own the complete collection of Goodnight Sweetheart episodes thanks to this Goodnight Sweetheart DVD box set.

In total there were 58 episodes spanning 6 series so this box set will give you many hours of enjoyment. If that wasn’t enough you also get some brilliant extra features including episode commentaries from the writers and directors as well as interviews with the writers and several of the main characters.

So overall I can highly recommend the Goodnight Sweetheart DVD box set, particularly because at the current price of just £36.97 it’s an absolute bargain:
