The Diary Of Anne Frank DVD

The Diary Of Anne Frank has recently been shown across five weekday evenings on BBC1 and it was a deeply moving program. This latest adaptation is based on the complete diaries of Anne Frank and tells the harrowing story of Anne and her family as they lock themselves away during the second world war in the hope that they avoid being captured by the Germans.

This famous real-life story was really brought to life in this latest adaptation because it was partly filmed around Anne’s actual house in Amsterdam, and the indoor scenes were also really authentic because they captured the bleak and claustrophobic conditions perfectly. The acting was also very good, particularly from Ellie Kendrick who played Anne Frank.

The Diary Of Anne Frank DVD is already being made available to buy so if you didn’t catch this series recently, then you have a perfect opportunity to watch it again in it’s entirety. It’s one that I definitely recommend you watch because although it’s the not of kind of DVD you can enjoy watching because of the desperately sad story, it does give you a really good understanding of what people went through during the war, particularly of course if you were Jewish like Anne and her family were.

The whole series was very well produced but I thought the final scenes in particular were very well made because they really do capture the deep sadness and despair that the family must have felt at the time. Just before the end there are signs of real hope and excitement at the possible end of the war, but unfortunately we know how the story ends and so it is quite hard to watch in many ways.

Anyway if you do want to watch it, and I recommend you do, The Diary Of Anne Frank DVD is due to be released in a few days time on January 12 and you can pre-order it now by clicking on the following link:
