Trumpton was a favourite of many young children growing up in the 1960s and early 1970s. Set in the imaginary town of Trumpton, it featured the daily lives of the ordinary folk who lived there but it was undoubtedly most famous for it’s fire brigade.

The familiar roll-call of ‘Pugh, Pugh, Barney McGrew, Cuthbert, Dibble, Grubb’ is still quoted even now and was a major part of this series as the fire brigade were often called out to resolve various problems within the town.
