Little Dorrit originally aired last year on the BBC and it was their latest Charles Dickens adaptation. However although the series itself was very well received, it was messed around with by the schedulers so a lot of people ended up missing certain episodes.

The good news, however, is that the Little Dorrit DVD is now available to buy so you can now watch this complete series (consisting of 14 separate episodes) at your own leisure, whenever you want. If you are a fan of these types of period dramas then it’s definitely worth watching.

Little Dorrit is set in 1820s London and is a story about hardship and struggle and the road from rags to riches. It is a slow-burning story but it does become quite gripping as the series progresses with interweaving plots and storylines. There is a large cast of characters and they include a lot of big names, which can be a little distracting, but overall it’s a very good production. The settings in particular are extremely authentic and realistic and they capture the mood perfectly.
