Rocknrolla is the brand new film from British director Guy Ritchie. Ritchie is probably at his best when he is producing gritty gangster films such as Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch, and this latest film is very much in the same mould.

Rocknrolla stars Mark Strong, Tom Wilkinson, Gerald Butler, Toby Kebbell, Jeremy Piven and Thadie Newton and introduces a brand new set of gangsters. This film involves a complex real estate deal but it is the usual mix of violence and comedy that we have come to expect from a Guy Ritchie film.

If you’re expecting something exciting and revolutionary then you will be disappointed but if you want a rather funny and entertaining film then you will probably enjoy Rocknrolla. It’s certainly better than Revolver, his previous effort, which was absolutely dire.

The Rocknrolla DVD features a few notable extras. There is a commentary from Guy Ritchie and Mark Strong as well as a short film where Guy Ritchie takes you around London and shows you some of the locations that were used in the film.
