If you haven’t seen Shameless before, it’s a top quality comedy drama series that’s won a host of top awards in recent years. The main characters are the Gallagher family who live on the Chatsworth housing estate in Manchester and it centres on their relationship with each other and the people around them.

The star is arguably the father of this dysfunctional family, the unemployed benefit-scrounging Frank Gallagher, who is strangely likeable, but there are now so many characters in the show and each of them are memorable in their own way and have their own unique qualities. As the series progresses we get to know more about each character and we get to see ever more compelling and humourous storylines. It really is a very well-written series.
