Mistresses has just returned to our screens on BBC1 for a second series but if you missed the first series of this BBC drama, you may be interested in the Mistresses Series 1 DVD.

Mistresses is very much like a British equivalent of Sex And The City except that this show is more of a drama than a comedy. It basically takes you into the world of four 30-something women (played by Sarah Parrish, Orla Brady, Sharon Small and Shelley Conn) whose lives have worked out very differently since they first met at university several years ago.

The stories revolve around their friendship and their complicated personal lives. There is plenty of love interests for the four women and plenty of drama as well. Mistresses is very much targeted towards women and it’s been very well received so far by a lot of television critics. It’s often said that the characters are not particularly likeable but there’s enough intrigue and drama to keep you hooked.
