The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas is based on the best-selling novel by John Boyne and is a captivating story set in and around a Nazi concentration camp during the second world war. It tells the story from the viewpoint of two young boys who meet and become friends despite literally being on two different sides of the fence.

The title refers to the Jewish boy within the concentration camp who is forced to wear pyjamas all day because he has had all his clothes taken away. He becomes friends with the son of the commander of the concentration camp, who has his freedom on the other side of the fence, and events basically start to unfold from there.

It’s hard to describe too much more about the film because that will ruin the ending, but I can certainly recommend you watch this movie. It is a terrific story, even though it can be quite hard to watch at times, and is definitely one of those movies that will tug at your heartstrings and make you feel quite emotional.
