The Boat That Rocked DVD
When you see a cast list of Nick Frost, Rhys Ifans and Bill Nighy, and you see that it’s been written by Richard Curtis, you automatically know what kind of film its going to be - a UK-based comedy. Well that’s exactly what you get with The Boat That Rocked DVD, which has just been released this week.
However it should be said that The Boat The Rocked is more than just your average comedy movie. This one tells the story of Radio Caroline which was no ordinary radio station because it broadcast to the nation via a ship in the middle of the North Sea back in the 1960s.
This radio station quickly grew in popularity and made stars out of many of it’s DJs and this film is loosely based on the real-life events that took place at this time (although all of the characters are fictitious ones).
I personally felt the film itself was pretty good because it combined classic 60s music with funny and believable characters, along with a large dose of comedy. However I also think it’s the kind of film that could easily divide people.
Some people of a certain generation will probably enjoy it more than the younger generation, for example, but I personally would recommend you watch The Boat That Rocked DVD because I thought it was an enjoyable movie, even though it was slightly too long for my liking.
