LOVEFiLM is an online DVD rental service that allows you to rent a certain number of DVDs and/or video games every month (depending on your membership level). They now have over 1,000,000 members and despite only launching in 2004, they have grown substantially in recent years and have become the number 1 choice for DVD rentals in the UK.

So how does the LOVEFiLM rental service actually work?

Well when you open an account and become a member you are given access to their website and you can choose which titles you want to watch from the 65,000+ titles that are available. Then your chosen DVDs (or games) are then delivered straight to your doorstep by first class post and you can then watch them at your leisure. There are no time restrictions. You simply send them back to LOVEFiLM (in the prepaid envelope) when you are finished with them.

There are various membership options to suit everyone’s budget and lifestyle.

The cheapest option is currently £3.91 per month which allows you to rent 2 titles per month (but only 1 at the time), and the most expensive membership option is for the premium service which allows you to rent an unlimited number of titles per month (and 3 at any one time), and costs a very reasonable £15.65 per month.

There is now also a Pay As You Go plan. This is ideal if you have a very busy lifestyle because rather than pay a monthly membership subscription, you simply buy rental credits and use them up whenever you feel like renting out a DVD or two.

Overall LOVEFiLM is an excellent service and I can definitely recommend them. With over 65,000 DVDs to choose from you can pretty much find any DVD that’s ever been released in the UK. Plus they now have a rapidly expanding collection of Blu-Ray titles to choose from and a huge choice of games which are compatible with all the most popular games consoles.
